Eva braun biography book
Review
... impressive, ... scholarly, insightful and important contribution to the curious life of [Braun]. Everything ... has a distinct ring of authenticity.... highly readable ... enables us to form our own opinions ...--International Times of Dominica
The school class photograph, published for the first time inside this book, shows Eva Braun at the back right. --Marienhoehe Institute, Simbach am Inn
"You have the background for such a book. But I found no documentation such as notes or a bibliography. It reads more like a novel."
Author's note: ACADEMIC EDITION EXPECTED 2012--anonymous reviewer
The author fictionalises elements of the story, but in doing so, based as it is on available evidence, vividly brings to life 1920s and 30s Munich and Berlin, to give a rivetng account and shed a strong but illuminating light on a rather tragic woman, who achieved, in her way, the fame she sought.

From the Author
As noted by one reviewer, the present version is written like a novel. Nevertheless, it is historically accurate. Indeed, it is the most accurate biography of Eva Braun ever published.
The author will be releasing an academic version of his biography early next year. The academic version, which is written in a less dramatic style, is supported by over 2,000 footnotes citing scores of sources, including personal interviews by the author of people who knew Eva Braun. When published, the academic version will easily be the most authoritative biography of Eva Braun available from any source. This version will also include an explanatory glossary of German-language terms, an extremely extensive bibliography, and short biographical sketches of all of the important people in Eva Braun's life.
The author will also shortly be publishing a "lite" version of The Untold Story of Eva Braun. This version will exclude most of the information on politics and on the war. It is intended for readers who want to concentrate on the essence of Eva Braun's personal life, rather than on the meaning of her life in a broader social and political context. This version will be entitled The Untold Story of Eva Braun: Abridged Edition.
About the Author
Born in San Diego, the author studied comparative literature in San Diego and Uppsala before studying law in Berkeley, Freiburg, and Bonn. He practiced law for a number of years and taught law in San Diego before spending three years as a Fulbright professor in Germany. In 1997 the author was appointed Professor of Common Law and Comparative Jurisprudence at the University of Muenster. As such, he was the first American to be appointed to a full professorship in law at a German university.
While he has published widely on legal topics, this is the author's first biography. And it will likely be his last, for he has had an abiding interest in how the National Socialists were able to come to power, and in how ordinary Germans like Eva Braun could have allowed themselves to be manipulated to support such a regime. He hopes that this book will serve as a warning to everyone that what happened in Germany could happen anywhere in the world.
